The Dope Doula
I advocate for the adoption of Trauma-Informed approaches and the provision of cannabis harm reduction and resources that encourage safe practices in all situations where mind-altering substances are used.
I endorse reciprocity and accountability in the psychedelic community and support the safeguarding of sacred plants and cultural traditions. I call for the establishment of drug policies based on human rights and the creation of awareness around systemic views that harm women, the LGBTQ+ community, Indigenous peoples, and people of colour. Furthermore, I believe in decolonising through the facilitation of critical conversations and the promotion of Access and Inclusion.
I envision a world where individuals with substance use disorders are met with compassion and offered trauma-informed support, where stigma is no longer a barrier to care. I believe that Global Drug Policies should prioritize health, well-being, and harm reduction, without imposing the death penalty for drug-related offences. I envision a world that promotes accountability, ethical boundaries, and inclusion in all settings where psychedelic, plant- or animal medicines are used, eliminating mundane divisions such as race, class and gender. This would allow communities to reconnect with indigenous knowledge systems and practices without appropriation, facilitating healing.
The pledge's purpose is to create shared values for the emerging psychedelic field. It can be used as a tool for each of us to set and name our intention for this work. Ethical practice = harm reduction
Please be aware that content on this site directly relates to topics such as Drug Education for safer drug use, Cannabis Psychedelic Therapies, Policy Reform and Harm Reduction in South Africa - all topics very close to my heart. However, I do not encourage the use of illicit substances but recognise that prohibition is ineffective. Individuals inherently deserve services that promote health, regardless of whether they use substances. Information & services found on this site are intended to educate and inspire research.
I won't make a nuisance of myself. Cross my heart 🖤
